Privacy Policy

Hosta is booking and property management software for hosts. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what's needed to run your bookings, we protect guest data carefully, and we don't sell anyone's data.
What we collect
- Account data: your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash — we never see or store plaintext passwords).
- Host business data: property details, availability, pricing, team members, and booking records you create in Hosta.
- Guest data your guests submit when booking: name, email, phone number, stay dates, and any special requests. You are the controller of your guests' data; Hosta processes it on your behalf to run your bookings.
- Basic technical data: log and device information needed to keep the service secure and reliable.
How we use it
- To provide the service: managing bookings, calendars, guests, and teams.
- To send transactional email — booking confirmations, booking alerts, account and security emails. We do not sell your data or your guests' data, and we do not use guest data for advertising.
- To respond to support requests and improve the product.
Guest privacy in shared calendars
- Exported iCal/ICS feeds and the public availability API never include guest names, emails, phone numbers, notes, or payment details — they only show which dates are booked or blocked.
Where data lives
- Hosta runs on established cloud infrastructure (Vercel and Supabase). Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.
- Each host's data is isolated with row-level security: one host cannot read another host's properties, bookings, or guests.
Your choices
- You can update your account details in the app at any time.
- You can ask us to export or delete your account and its data by emailing hello@hostahq.co. Deleting your account removes your properties, bookings, and guest records, subject to any legal retention requirements.
